Logitech Rolls Out 300,000 Pixels Black Webcam

Logitech , a $1.5 billion peripheral devices technology company and one of the leading players in mice, keyboards, webcams, speakers and gaming devices, unveiled a 300,000 pixels black webcam, QuickCam Easy.
The new web camera is the first entry-level webcam by Logitech with a 300,000 pixels camera. So far this quality was available only in high-end webcameras. It allows one to add video easily while using a wide range of video IM (Instant Messenger) solutions. Still photos are captured at up to 1.3MP (1,300,000 pixels via software enhancement).
Logitech QuickCam Easy offers high quality video and still image communication over the web, through its CMOS sensor. This is an ideal technology for videoconferencing, wireless handheld device videoconferencing, bar-code scanners, fax machines, consumer scanners, toys, biometrics and some automotive in vehicle uses, the company said.
The new webcam enables video image of up to 640 x 480 pixels and still image of up to 1280 x 960 pixel (1.3MP).
This camera ships with Logitech's QuickCam software, which enables: video instant messaging; e-mailing photo and video messages with one-click ease; picture and video organization in an integrated gallery.
Applications for Windows: live video with MSN Messenger; video-enabled AOL Instant Messenger; video-enabled Yahoo! Messenger; free 30-day trial of Logitech Video Call; live video with Windows Messenger; one-click video email software; QuickCapture photos and videos software; webcamming.
Logitech QuickCam Easy is available in India at a suggested retail price of Rs 2,250. It comes with a warranty of two years.
