Gigabyte Introduces Intel 975X-Based Motherboard

By ChannelTimes Staff
Mumbai, Jan 30, 2006

Motherboard maker Gigabyte launched the Intel 975X Express-based GA-G1975X, the first series of G1-Turbo motherboards.

According to the company, the motherboard is designed for overclockers and hardcore gamers and has features such as the Intel 975X Express chipset and Turbojet technology.

Gigabyte said that its proprietary Turbojet technology, situated around the hottest components on a motherboard, helps to efficiently remove heat generated by the CPU, north bridge and memory, and is designed to cope with abnormally tough thermal conditions. This is achieved by directing airflow away from heat generating components; two fans are dedicated to sucking warm air out from the back of the system and two drive air over the system memory, an area on the motherboard that it said is often neglected by cooling systems.

The GA-G1975X has dual PCI-E graphics slots supporting two 8-lane PCI Express links for multi-view. The motherboard has integrated hardware audio controller from Creative Sound Blaster Live 24-bit.

The GA-G1975X is being made available at an approximate street price of Rs 19,990 with 3-year warranty.
At Rs 20,000, is the motherboard righly priced?
