Acer Plans to Make Service Accessible

To establish and maintain a strong service network, Acer has some serious plans to improve on the service front. In that, the company is also in hunt of service partners across the country. The focus will be to address, unexplored areas.

Sudipto Ghosh, Chief Support Officer of Acer India said, “We have a plan of recruiting the service partners in around 199 cities and the focus would be on C and D class cities.”
It may be recalled that Acer currently has 150 Authorised Service Providers (ASPs) in 201 cities and is determined to reach the 400 partners.

The criteria for selecting a partner would depend upon Infrastructure, dedication, and capability to maintain the buffer stock and should be willing to invest in the buffers.
Sudipto Ghosh also said, “A service partner must have maximum bandwidth available in the region because low bandwidth can hamper the productivity of work.”

Acer also will organize a two-day technical training program for the engineers of service partners, which will enable them to tackle the technical problems in a better way and pass the Acer certification test, which is essential for everybody to be a partner.

Secondly, to achieve a greater customer satisfaction, Acer is coming up with a program for the end customers to give them online status of their service related issues. This is something like an online status update check. It will let a customer know on which their query is.

Sudipto said, “the customer just need to fill their complaint number to get the details and status of the service.” He added, “As we document all these things in a well organized manner, it won’t be a tough job for Acer to launch such a portal.”

Hi,
I have bought Acer Laptop 4736 (Oct 2009). Within a week, it was not booting. After 2 hour, it started normally. I was embarrassed when I had to give important presentation. It was not starting. Any how I managed and after few hours it started normally. I called up customer care and they asked to visit service centre. At service centre (Ghazibad), they said that motherboard had some problem. Service centre collected my laptop. I kept following up with service centre for next 24 days. At last they received motherboard from Bangalore and replaced the same. Next day it was not showing any sign of life. It was completely silent. Again I had contacted to service centre, they expressed same problem. I again asked customer care. This time reply was same… ‘Our service centre would take care’. I asked to replace this laptop as it had manufacturing defect. But customer care and service centre both denied and told that they are helpless. They could only provide warranty. Now I am left with this pathetic laptop. How many times I need to change motherboard? There is nobody to resolve this problem.
I have wasted my time in follow-ups with service centre. I simply request you to return my hard-earned money. I would be the happiest person.
Respond this mail with in 48Hr. or I would be posting blogs (LinkedIn, FaceBook, twitter) on internet and definitely I would also give my complaint to news papers and TV channels.
Regards,
