Bangalore: Arcserve, a US-based provider for data protection, replication and recovery software, today announced the appointment of a regional sales head in India as part of its elaborate plan to strengthen its global leadership team for better sales focus through channel partnerships.
The company has hired Nikhil Korgaonkar as its head of regional sales in India. Korgaonkar comes to Arcserve from Veritas were he was responsible for revamping its channel sales team and building confidence levels amongst the partners and establishing a go-to-market strategy in India following the company’s split from Symantec.
In this role, Nikhil Korgaonkar would head the data protection company’s sales efforts in India, a country Arcserve views as a key market with a high potential for growth. In a press statement, Korgaonkar said, “I relish the challenge of working closely with the channel to show customers and prospects how Arcserve data protection solutions will help them safeguard their assets now and in the future.”
Arcserve has been bullish with its appointments this year, changing its leadership team through the introduction of four new people to the team. Scott Petersen took over as VP, Global Channel and Alliances, Oussama El-Hilali was appointed VP of Products. Erica Antony became VP of Product Management while Darin McAreavey took over as the CFO.
The appointment of Scott Petersen as the new vice president of global channel and alliances, charged with growing the company’s strategic technology partnerships and aligning its global channel strategies has helped the company in the revenue collection.He also served in sales leadership roles with McData, acquired by Brocade Communications Systems in 2007, and BackBone Software, acquired by Quest Software in 2010.
“Arcserve has done an incredible job of building its global channel network to over 7,500 partners in record time,” Petersen said. “This isn’t surprising given the mindset that partners are an extension of its core team.”
