Mumbai, April 29: Imaging industry leader Canon has partnered with ASIRT (Association of Information and retailers in Technology) as their platinum partner. Apart from these ASIRT Techday events, Canon will also sponsor 2 ASIRT TechEDGE events where they shall bring in expert management and technology professionals to build a story around their products and services.
ASIRT TechEDGE events are attended in large numbers by senior sales and management executives of member companies apart from owners and top management.
The announcement was made by the association in their first Techday of this year here recently.Building human potential, sexual harassment law and credit ratings were the key point of discussions.
Devendra Gabhawala, an incisive leader with experience in Strategic Planning, Business Development, Key Account Management, Learning and Development & Brand Management. Having worked with Kotak Mahindra Bank, IL&FS, HPCL, Reliance BIG, Tata Tele, ACNeilsen, among others as an accomplished expert in human performance developing employees, managers and coaching top management, members were eagerly awaiting this event.
Gabhawala spoke on coaching, performance gap management and shaping career to match long term goals of employees and company. He demonstrated simple tools such as excel file and printed forms for performance evaluation, criteria for increments and promotion with rationale and matrix defining.
With a practical mini-workshop on topics like technical and softskills already possessed, personal strength and people skills, self-evaluation, learning and improvement, Gabhawala involved members with situation assessment of live cases from members.
Most importantly, he interacted with members on their employee performance and events and trained members on how to give positive and constructive feedback including the exact wordings, timing for feedback and benchmark for self-improvement.
He concluded with: review is not performance enhancement, coaching is, and every business owner is a coach for his employees.

The big bang launch was Canon MAXIFY inkjet printers for SME with speed, reliability, connectivity and economical ink, power consumption and reliability along with single pass duplex scanner. With market pitch and differentiation, members are now charged to pitch Canon products.
The event also featured experts on how to use credit rating to build business and legal obligations of employers towards women staff with respect to sexual harassment laws.
