June 26, 2013: Dubai based Comguard Networks, an arm of the Spectrum Group of Companies along with Winmagic productively concluded their joint seminar - “Understanding The True Cost of Data Encryption” in Chennai. The event was held in Sheraton Park Hotel, Chennai on June 7, 2013, following the accomplishments in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai previously.
The main aim behind holding this seminar was to provide customers a platform to exchange knowledge, interact and develop a better understanding about significance of encryption. Encryption acts as a shield to your data, providing security to the authorised person’s records, at the same time keeping the work and access smooth and secure.
Aren Naidoo- A.V.P., Distribution & Alliance, Comguard, Nameet Dokare- Country Head- Sales, WinMagic, Gaurav Shanbhag- Technical Consultant, Comguard were speakers at the event.
Commenting on the event Aren Naidoo, A.V.P., Distribution & Alliance, Comguard said, “Series of seminar concluded successfully and Indian IT market has great potential. We are overwhelmed with the response we got from the participants. We are looking forward to widening our network and adding more partners.”
Nameet Dokare- Country Head Sales, India, Win Magic said, “Encryption provides security to your data as it doesn’t allow unauthorized individual the right to access encrypted file or folder. People often lose their devices and with it their data as well which effects both the individual and the company he or she is associated with. Understanding the criticality of this, encryption is the need of the day.”
Apart from the presentations about the companies, Gaurav Shanbhag - Technical Consultant, Comguard took the technical session and gave a demo on how to create keys and encrypt data. Through encryption, users can restrict access to personal files specifically or on a network. All files under a single folder or data partition are automatically encrypted. FFE increases the security of sensitive files by encrypting information on top of regularly fully encrypted hard drives. Users simply have to drag and drop files into the already encrypted folder.
The event brought together CXO’s, CIOL’s, CTO’s, IT Professionals and senior management in a collaborative environment to present and discuss issues relating to IT security.
The event concluded on a positive note with a good turnout of people.
