Thiruvarur, July 8: Delta IT Traders Association, the geographically largest association in Tamil Nadu covering the regions like Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mannargudi, Karaikal, Mayiladuthurai, Mannargudi, Thiruthuraipoondi and Vedaranyam, recently elected their new office bearers in a private function here.
K.Senthil Nathan of Avaice computers has been elected as the new president. Other office bearers include Elayaraja (Secretary), Kalaimani (Treasurer), Saravanan and Prakash (Confed-EC members).
In an interaction with Channel Times, Senthil Nathan said that service has been the curse of this region and he ensured active awareness creation on the service sector. “This area being wide-spread, many vendors have always neglected us and any simple service issue will take us minimum a week’s time as the nearest service center is in Trichy or Puducherry,” he said.
He also added that there have been situations like a leading Korean vendor deploying a refrigerator mechanic to service laptop.
The event was sponsored by Chennai-based Pravi technologies, Wide-angle solutions for e-scan anti-virus. “We predominantly do distribution of Microsoft, Norton, eScan, Quickheal, Kaspersky , wacom, Pravi tablets and computer accessories. We are also having branch in Singapore. We are also in the verge of creating our own brand in Mini projector, bluetooth speakers, wireless bracelet, tablets and more”, said Vajravelu Ravikumar, CEO, Pravi technologies.
Ravi, who was also a former employee with Microsoft talked about the licensing and awareness on other software.
C Balakrishnan, secretary of Confed-ITA and S Senthil Kumar, a member of Delta association and joint-secretary of Confed-ITA participated in the meeting, which was attended by more than 50 partners.
