Edgecore Network switches awarded MEF certification
Ethernet aggregation switches- ECS4660-28F from Edgecore networks has won the MEF 9 and MEF14 certification, the company announced here today. The MEF-certified ECS4660-28F is a Layer 3 Gigabit Ethernet carrier-grade switch. It enables voice, video, and data managed services over virtual Ethernet networks. It supports dual AC/DC power and fan hot swappable modules, front panel access, Synchronous Ethernet (Sync-E) and IEEE1588v2. Together with an extended operating temperature range these features meet the rigid requirements of service providers.
The MEF certification offers assurance to corporate, institutional, and government subscribers that certified services strictly match Carrier Ethernet service requirements. The rigorous testing carried out conducted by Iometrix, the official laboratory committed to providing globally recognized and trusted certifications for Carrier Ethernet, saw the Ethernet switch succeed in a series of comprehensive tests to determine its readiness.The Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) is a not for profit international industry consortium, working for the worldwide adoption of Carrier Ethernet networks and services.
