Panjim, March 2: Nagaraj Prabhu Borkar has been elected as the new president of the Goa IT Business Association for the 2015-2017 tenure at an AGM organized recently.
Forty Four members also elected Dhiren Mehta (Vice President), Mandar Mapsekar (Treasurer), Raaj Chodankar (General Secretary), Shrivallabh Serdesai (Joint Secretary) as the new office bearers.
Speaking to ‘Channel Times’, newly-elected president, Nagrap Prabhu Borkar said, “It is a pleasure accepting the challenge shouldering the responsibility of the growing association, on the outset of industry facing serious threats from online predatory pricing, large format retails and more. My role would be working round the corner to fight against the online predatory pricing, and seal leakages in business. We have planned for various customized solutions, which I feel will surely bring respite to the concern.”
He also said that currently, the association strength is just about 30% of the total IT dealers/SI in the market and the new team will make efforts on the membership drive. “We have planned to work for recognition of IT business as truly IT Industry, therefore will work for registration of dealer in Department of IT mandatory and thus aim at bringing discipline in the business, thus will encourage new membership,” he added.
Summit for service and support:
Prabhu also said that the post-sales and service support from the OEM in Goa is major concern, and him team will work to invite honorary membership to all service centers. “Efforts will be made to bring in actuality of the concept of ‘Fast -Track-Service-Counters’ for the customers and members. We will plan for OEM Service/Support Summit in the month of August, where Customers of GIBA will have direct interaction to the OEM service, which will boost confidence of customers on our members,” he said.
He also concluded that ‘GITTEX’, an expo by the association will be organized in April.
