NEC introduces UNIVERGE® Cloud services for SMBs and business enterprises

First ever Cloud-based Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) offering in India

Mumbai: NEC India, a leading display, network and IT solutions provider launched the latest generation of its Unified Communications and Collaboration (UC&C) software, UNIVERGE® Cloud Services for its SMB and business enterprises customers in India. Announcing this a press statement said, the UNIVERGE® Cloud services is a complete, software-based unified communications and collaboration solution that redefines the way an enterprise communicates. It enables access anywhere, anytime, operates across premise, cloud or hybrid environments and ensures business continuity through a single application platform.

NEC’s UNIVERGE® Cloud services includes a comprehensive suite of voice, data and video services featuring a simple, web-based end-user client that is deployable across any device, including PCs, smartphones and tablets. The cloud service integrates multiple communication and collaboration tools such as, IP telephony, voicemail, audio and video conferencing, as well as web collaboration, presence and IM and contact centers – all in a simple, service-based model that is designed to replace high costs with an affordable monthly fee.

With the launch of this solution and wealth of solutions, NEC strengthens its presence in the unified communication space which is also validated by its recent achievement as the Enterprise Telephony Vendor of the Year at the 2012 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific ICT Awards. The 2012 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific ICT Awards recognize companies and individuals that have pushed the boundaries of excellence, rose above the competition and demonstrated outstanding performance across Asia Pacific.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Ravinder Raina, Country Head – Private Network Solutions (PNS), NEC India Pvt. Indian SMEs currently contribute to about 60% of NEC’s revenues in the telephony space. With the launch of this solution we aim to target this segment is a more focused manner.
