Nagpur, June 24: Nagpur-based Vidarbha Computer & Media Dealer’s Welfare Association (VCMDWA) is gearing up to organize a slew of activities for partners and for CSR.
The association, which was started in 1991 to restrict unfair practices in the trade as well as to protect the interest of its members, is nearing Silver Jubilee. VCMDWA has over 100 permanent members and hundreds of members from all over Vidarbha region.
The key objectives of the association are- To safeguard the business interests of its member dealers, to serve as a tutor to the customers and CSR activities.
In an exclusive chat with ‘Channel Times’, Prashant Ugemuge, president of the Association, said: “The key business opportunities in IT are mainly in government segment. As lot of things and new projects are declared by state and central government, the expected investment in the IT infrastructure is bound to grow multi fold in years to come.”
Speaking on the expo Compex, a flagship annual event of the association and being organized for last 22 years, he said: “This is undoubtedly the biggest expo of the Central India. It is organised in the month of January every year. Also every alternate year the event called Destination IT is also organised which is a seminar series for guiding aspiring IT students in their careers.”
Speaking further on the challenges in the market, he said that the small traders and retail business is badly affected due to online business. Ironically the IT companies are also not supporting the community which sells IT products.
