May 22, 2012, New Delhi, India – ZyXEL Communications, a world-class networking company that provides innovative, reliable Internet solutions for customers ranging from telecommunications service providers, small- and medium-sized businesses to home users,is ready for the new Internet protocol version 6 (IPv6) standard launching next month and expected to become the mainstream Internet protocol of the future.
In view of the approaching World IPv6 Launch Day on June 6, 2012, the world’s major Internet service providers (ISPs), networking equipment manufacturers and Web companies are coming together to adopt IPv6 in their products and services.
The comprehensive IPv6-ready ZyXEL products and solutions have several architectural enhancements for network management, QoS, security encryption and authentication. The new IPv6 standard brings users many advantages such as simple plug-and-play network access, higher performance of digital media content streaming and applications over IP in addition to higher security, more reliability and better control over Internet applications.
As applications over the Internet evolve diversely, the traditional IPv4 will eventually become incapable of handling the newly developed, innovative features. As a major Internet product and solution provider, ZyXEL invests considerable resource and effort on developing products and solutions that enable customers to seamlessly migrate and/or adapt to the new trend without hassle or disruption.
Starting with the first IPv6 Ready Logo Certification in 2004, followed by the “Phase II IPv6 Ready” Golden Logo for several VDSL2 integrated access devices and CPE products in 2010, ZyXEL is now offering more IPv6-ready products and solutions ranging from hardware equipment such as DSL-based CPE (customer-premise-equipment), COE (central-office-equipment), carrier switches, LTE IAD (Internet-access-device), Gateways and Fibre technology-based IAD to the IPv6-certified firmware and software stacks for security and switching solutions.
For general users, ZyXEL is enabling IPv6 compatibility on a few media servers and will continue the deployment on more products and solutions. The comprehensive portfolio empowers customers such as telecom operators, service providers and enterprises facing challenges from the new protocol to choose the right configuration to meet individual deployment needs.
