India

Zotac is all set to spread its wings in India. The company is bringing in motherboards and graphics cards, based on Nvidia chipset series. Zotac International (MCO) was established in 2006, with a mission to deliver Nvidia graphic solutions to the industry. The company enjoys strong back up from its parent group – PC Partner.

During its launch summit, commenting on the ground of the decision to enter India, Carsten Berger, (Germany-based) marketing director of the company informed, “India has a huge potential. It’s waiting for new technologies. Unfortunately, inflation is growing here. But right now India is one of the biggest markets in the world.”

Thus, Zotac is quite optimistic about its potential in India. How will the company reach the Indian buyers? It has chalked out a concrete plan for its future move in India. In the words of Berger, “We’re planning to do a number of things here. We’ll educate a number of people on the latest technology. We’ll physically meet them, as well as will reach them through media and other channels.”

Zotac has put 3 persons to start up with. Later, depending on the market reaction, its staff count will increase. The company is maintaining a team of experienced people. How’re they planning to associate with the channel partners? Berger informed, “For the first 15 days, any partner joining us following the stipulated conditions, will get a silver coin. We’ll also continue to do channel programmes.”

Echoing on Berger’s words, Deepak Gupta, Indian country manager for Zotac clarified, “Next 15 days, we will get in touch with partners with the silver coin scheme – that is buy 5 Zotac VGA cards, get 1 silver coin free. Then in the next quarter, we will travel 20 cities in India. In each city, we will fix 1 or 2 premium partners – may be 1 for Graphic cards, another for Motherboards, depending on the customisation of the local market.”

Gupta also informed, “Zotac is a very large brand. It gives 5 years warranty (including 2 years directly from the distributor), thus it is easy to sell its products in the market.”

While describing the pricing policy of the Zotac products, he said, “Though we are one of the best, our price positioning is very competitive. We are not going to sacrifice our quality for prices.”

At present, Zotac has two distributors from India. Aditya Infotech will distribute the cards. Motherboards will be distributed through Tirupati Enterprises. The company is promising sufficient buffer stock to cater to the customers.

Zotac will prefer exclusive partnership in each product line. According to the company, exclusive partners can contribute in a better way to build the brand.

The Zotac products bring yet another opportunity for the believers of the emerging concept of balanced CPU and GPU for smooth running of the PC.
