Madurai, March 4: A few days earlier, IT executives in Chennai had decided to form an association and now the indications are that their counterparts in other parts of the state will follow suit soon.

A few days ago, Channel Times reported the formation of an association in Chennai (click here to read), and a few other executives from across Tamil Nadu revealed that a few informal groups in Madurai and Trichy are also planning form associations.

“We were not aware that our counterparts in Chennai had similar plans. If they are coming up with a forum, we will join hands with them,” an executive from Madurai told Channel Times. He also added that until now they are working on an informal way and we are present only in the WhatsApp and Google Groups. “We are happy that such a step has come from the state’s capital, we will be working on the lines of the associations of the medical representatives,” said another employee from Madurai region.

He also added that the forum will discuss on the welfare of their members, help their family financially in emergency situations and more.

In Trichy too, there have been talks among the executives for more than a year to form a forum. “We had been planning to bring all the IT employees from vendors and national distributors under one roof. However, due to the pressure from the regional markets, things are ending with a tea-shop conversation. Once the Chennai forum gets active, we will also support them,” said an executive from the central Tamil Nadu region. Another executive confirmed that this move is not to compete with the partner associations and the association will never house the employees in the dealers and distributors organisations.

It has to be noted that the employees and the national distributors have two separate state-level wings at the state-level.
