Bangalore: Taiwanese hardware and Electronics Company Acer plans to create robust channel strategies to accelerate growth in the Indian markets while also strengthening its partnerships and customer outreach programs through intensive engagement activities.

A report published in International Business Times (read it here) quoting Acer India’s senior director Head of Consumer Business Chandrahas Panigrahi said the company had forced partnerships with all large format retail stores with an aim to enhance sales in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.

The company also proposes to expand its existing distribution network comprising Acer Lounge, Acer Malls and Acer Points besides investing majorly in training, in-store merchandising, sales enablement, schemes for partners and easy finance options.

Acer had come out with special offers this month on purchases of its Aspire range of laptops, 2-in-1s, convertibles and all-in-one personal computers. The offers would be valid for purchases made across the month of October, continuing through the festive period.

The article further discussed the challenges faced by personal computing hardware makers with Panigrahi being quoted saying that Acer was focusing on issues beyond new form factors such as hybrids and convertibles. He, however, did not divulge any details of possible offerings of the future.

On the revenue front, the company underscored 2015 as a successful one due to the launch of various products such as smartphones, all in ones, convertibles that focused on increased productivity. The company also entered the lucrative gaming segment with the Predator laptop and desktop and gaming monitor.
