BlackBerry Appoints Optiemus As Its Handset Distributor In India

Mumbai: BlackBerry Limited has announced the appointment of telecom enterprise Optiemus Infracom Limited as its authorized distributor in India. Optiemus will distribute and promote BlackBerry handsets in the Indian market including the new DTEK50 and DTEK60, the latest in the company’s DTEK series of secure Android smartphones with BlackBerry security software inside. The deal is seen as an efforts of a one time leader in the handset business to revive its business through strong distribution network in India.

Officially announced today at an event in New Delhi, both DTEK devices will be available nationwide from the Optiemus distribution network soon at INR 21,990 for the DTEK50 and INR 46,990 for the DTEK60 by BlackBerry. Optiemus will also provide the secure Android BlackBerry PRIV for INR 34,990 and for enterprise customers the BB10 OS -powered BlackBerry Leap device as well.

Earlier in June, BlackBerry announced partnership with HCL Infosystems to expand the channel and distribution network for its enterprise software products and services in India.
