Corsair Attributes India Growth to Channel Expansion

India Growth

Corsair, a provider of high-performance computer memory, power supplies and flash memory products, including solid-state drives, has attributed its India growth to the expansion of channel sales base. Corsair notched up 300 percent growth in the PSUs (computer power supply units) category and over 90 percent growth in the performance memory category (used in gaming and multimedia intensive computing systems) as compared to H2 2008.

As per the company, more retailers have signed up to take advantage of higher margin structures to offset the cut-throat price slashing at the value end of the market. With its two distributors (Inspan Infotech and Tirupati Enterprises), Corsair is working toward adding more focused and premium partners to address the growing demand for branded PSUs and 2GB+ performance memory modules from tier-1 and tier-2 cities.

“India’s PC enthusiast/gaming market is growing at over 23 percent a year, and Corsair is best positioned to take advantage of this market growth. Looking at 2H 09, we expect further stellar growth on gaming memory and PSUs as more PC component retailers add gaming products to take advantage of higher margins available in the gaming segment,” said Shane Dennison, Sales Manager (Asia), Corsair Memory.

Corsair has taken away all the service issues from its sales channel – distributors, dealers, retailers – and set up a service platform with dedicated company person to address across 23 centers across India. Apart from that Corsair has also set up a toll free number 1-800-4255 464 and email contact (indiaservice@corsair.com) for service issues.

“This achievement further motivated us and our dealers across the country to enable our customers to further appreciate our brand. We are now actively engaged in tier-3 cities to provide customers with closer and more convenient service,” said MA Mannan, Country Manager (India), Corsair Memory.

Corsair recently launched new ‘Extreme’ Series SSDs in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB densities. For the gaming segment, Corsair entered the PC chassis category with the the Corsair Obsidian Series 800D.
